You can create multiple templates with different settings. When you then add users, you simply choose the template that fits best.<\/p>\n\n<p>Your templates are listed under the <em><strong>Permission Templates<\/strong><\/em> heading on the <em>Group Settings page<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.serviceprotokoll.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/PS_EN_group_permission_template.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20992\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>To create a permission template:<\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to <em>Group settings<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scroll to the bottom of the page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <em>+ Add a new template<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are directed to the page <em>Permissions<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Give your template a name<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select permissions for your template<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Save<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<p>Making changes to the permission of individual users does not affect the template.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-info\">Alternatively, you can copy a user&#8217;s settings. Select a user, then click <strong>+ Duplicate<\/strong>. All of the user&#8217;s settings will be copied. Give the new template a name, make any changes you want, and save the template.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.serviceprotokoll.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/PS_EN_duplicate_user_settings_marked.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27700\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Change settings in a template<\/h4>\n\n<p>If you want to change a template, do this:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click on the template you want to change<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make your changes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Save<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If there are users to whom the template has been applied, the option &#8211; <em>Update connected users<\/em> will also be displayed. Clicking on it will update all users&#8217; permissions to the new ones.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-alert\">NOTE: If you have used a permissions template and then changed any settings for an individual user, these will be overwritten and the new template will fully apply to the user.<\/p>\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Change permission template on user<\/h5>\n\n<p>If you want to change the selected template for a user, click on the user and select the new template and save the change.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This function requires admin permissions.
