Just like with regular users in the system, you can set permissions for the customer user. For example. if the customer user himself should be able to log in and make uptime readings on his service objects, view and upload documents\/files to the order or service object (including documents on Model if any) and any self-checks.<\/p>\n\n<p>To add or change the permissions of a customer user, administrator permissions are not needed, but only the <strong>user permission<\/strong> to &#8220;Edit customer user permissions&#8221; under <strong>Customer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Guide to customer user<\/h5>\n\n<p><a class=\"heroickb_exit_link\" href=\"?hkb-redirect&#038;nonce=d75c3df6d1&#038;check=20aln&#038;redirect=https%3A%2F%2Fsupport.serviceprotokoll.se%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2025%2F05%2FThe-customer-users-guide-to-Serviceprotocol-2502.pdf&#038;otype=unknown&#038;oid=0&#038;source=block-content\">Here you find this guide as pdf.<\/a><\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Concerning facility<\/h4>\n\n<p>Unlike normal users, customer users can also be allowed facilities or unrelated objects. In this way, you can invite several users and assign them to their specific facility at the customer.<\/p>\n\n<p>Unattached objects are service orders, work orders and service objects that are not linked to a facility. In that case, click under Facility: <em>Not assigned to a facility.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fault report<\/h4>\n\n<p>If you give the customer the permission to enter fault reports, you will see when a fault report has been received through a red exclamation mark under the Fault report menu. If the customer has an <a class=\"heroickb_exit_link\" href=\"?hkb-redirect&#038;nonce=d75c3df6d1&#038;check=29mu0&#038;redirect=https%3A%2F%2Fsupport.serviceprotokoll.se%2Fen%2Fkb%2Fassign%2F&#038;otype=unknown&#038;oid=0&#038;source=block-content\" data-type=\"ht_kb\" data-id=\"13077\">assigned technician*<\/a>\u00a0a notification is also sent to the technician \u2013 as an SMS or e-mail, depending on the setting the assigned technician has made in their account settings.<\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Self-checks<\/h4>\n\n<p>If the customer is to be able to complete a self-check, you grant the permission to <strong>Self-check &#8211; View<\/strong>. Self-checks that have already been completed are opened as usual as a PDF.<\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Comments<\/h4>\n\n<p>The customer can write their own and respond to comments on \u201ctheir\u201d orders. <strong>Assigned*<\/strong> technicians receive a notification when a comment is posted by the customer.<\/p>\n\n<p>If you do <strong>not<\/strong> want your comments on the order to be shown to the customer, select <em>Internal comment<\/em> when writing the comment.<\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Create customer account<\/h4>\n\n<p>How to create a user account for a customer:<\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Log in to your account<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to <em>Register &gt; Customer.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Find the customer you want to add a customer user\u00a0to.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the <em>Add<\/em>-dropdown<em>.\u00a0<\/em>Click on\u00a0<em>Create customer user.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter an email address for the customer user. This will be the customer username so it must be a valid email address. If the customer has several facilities, you choose which of these this particular user should be able to see.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Save by clicking <strong>Create user.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select permissions for the user and save the changes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The user receives the account information sent to them via e-mail<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.serviceprotokoll.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/bjud-in-anvandare_kund.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:512px;height:472px\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Example of email to a new customer user<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<p>If you have marked that the customer user should be able to choose to receive e-mail or SMS when a work order is created, the customer user himself needs to mark it in his account settings. Customer users are listed under the heading\u00a0<em>Users<\/em>. OO Software AB&#8217;s address will then be: https:\/\/app.serviceprotokoll.se\/Account\/Login?branding=OO%20Software%20AB<br\/><br\/>Use this address to create your link.
